EVENT DETAILS

A.L.I.C.E. Training
Starting 8/10/2018 and ending on 8/10/2018
Event Groups:
• Greene County Educational Service Center - Professional Development
Description:

ALICE training is now being used in many school districts and other organizations across the county as a way to teach staff and students to be proactive in the case of a major threat within the schools. This training will empower staff with options for survival in the event that an active shooter comes into a school or onto school premises. The ALICE response allows teachers and students (as appropriate) to choose whether they should flee from a threat, barricade to delay an attacker, or fight the threat. It is a departure from the Lockdown-only method that has been put into effect in the past as the method of response in these horrible situations. Schools in Greene County are being trained in ALICE – this year or in the coming year. We want our staff to be prepared as the educational staff in the districts should one of these events occur in our schools.
