About Us
The Greene County Educational Service Center is a recipient of Ohio’s Early Learning Initiative (ELI) grant dollars, designed to provide preschool services to income eligible families. The ELI program, operated in collaboration with the Yellow Springs Community Children’s Center, provides high quality preschool experiences and childcare to help children enter kindergarten ready for success. The program is designed to meet the needs of working families who are low income, however, private pay children also benefit from the ELI program. The program operates 52 weeks a year.
The Early Learning Initiative requires preschool teachers to be highly trained and be State licensed. A comprehensive curriculum is followed that addresses child development objectives and Ohio’s Early Learning Content Standards. Educational experiences are provided using intentional teaching strategies to facilitate concept development, content, knowledge, creativity and problem solving.
