Scholar Golf Scramble Huge Success

Scholar Golf Scramble Huge Success

The 6th annual Greene ESC Scholars Golf Scramble was held Friday, June 19, 2009 at the Sebastian Hills Golf Course. In spite of initially threatening skies, eighteen teams enjoyed a beautiful day with an exciting round of golf, complete with lots of fun, food, and prizes.

According to Greene ESC Superintendent (and event organizer) Terry Thomas, "we had tremendous participation and support for the Scramble this year.  I'd like to thank all of the players, as well as those who donated items for door prizes, and those who sponsored holes along the course.  In total, $1250.22 was generated to be added to our scholarship fund. All in all, it was a very successful day, which benefited a very worthy cause."

Proceeds from the Greene ESC Scholars Golf Scramble support scholarships for students in Greene County, including the Franklin B. Walter Scholarship and the ESC Services Scholarship.  The event also benefits the Greene ESC's "Innovation in Education Grant" which is awarded annually to a Greene County teacher to support innovative, unique classroom projects.
