Four Year Resident Educator Program now in place for New Greene County Teachers

Ron Anderson, Ed.D.

Four Year Resident Educator Program in place for 2011-2012 school year.

Teachers who are entering the profession on a four-year Resident Educator License are required to partipate in a Resident Educator program.  The Greene ESC is making that program available to Greene County schools who wish to participate in the consortium.  Similar to the former Entry Year program, each Resident Educator will be assigned a mentor by their home school district.  The mentor will work with the beginning teacher regularly throughout the school year. In addition, monthly after shcool workshops will be held at the Greene ESC to supplement the work that the mentor is doing.

In the fourth year of residence, each Resident Educator will be required to pass of summative examination, which is yet to be developed by the Ohio Department of Education.
