ESC Awards and Recognitions

 

The Greene ESC provides several awards and recognitions to students and staff in Greene County. To access detailed information click on any specific award link from the right hand side menu.

Following is a brief summary of each award:

Franklin B. Walter Scholarship:  The Greene ESC in partnership with OESCA (Ohio Educational Service Center Association) provides a $1,000 scholarship to the Greene County student who is selected as the recipient from Greene County for the OESCA Franklin B. Walter Award. This award is presented each school year at a luncheon in Columbus at the OESCA Spring Conference.

ESC Services Scholarship:  The Greene ESC presents a $1,000 scholarship to a Greene County student each year who has been provided some level of educational support through one of the Greene ESC programs. Students meeting the proper criteria may apply for this grant which is presented in the spring of each school year.

ESC Innovation in Education Grant:  The Greene ESC presents a $1,000 grant to a Greene County teacher or classroom leader to promote innovative classroom projects. This application is opened each September and presented in October of each school year.

Excellence In Education Award:  The Greene ESC, in honor of former Superintendent Howard L. Post, hosts the Excellence in Education Awards program each spring. Valedictorians and Salutatorians from each school district in Greene County individually select their "most influential"  teacher from their Pre K - 12 school career. This award is presented to each teacher selected in a May program at the Greene ESC each school year. 

The Thomas Award:  The Greene ESC recognizes one outstanding ESC employee each year who has provided services to our school districts which are above and beyond their normal job description. ESC employees nominate potential recipients throughout the school year and this award is presented at the ESC annual opening day meeting of each school year.
